'at your service Ma'am'

A chivalrous cavalier is a must for the romantic amongst us.  This bear came about because my husband came home one dinner time when I was starting to dress him as a Tudor man - but had only got as far as the shirt.  He said that the Bear reminded him of a Cavalier.  Not having made one before I set aside the idea of the Tudor costume and that afternoon dressed him as you see him now.   I was so pleased with the result.  He was loved at the first fair that he went too, at which a collector took him home, she said, to protect her.

In the background of this picture is my grandmothers old hand operated, Singer sewing machine.  She bought it new in 1936, then passed it down to my mother who in turn passed it down to me. I have owned it for 24 years and have made many things on it and still use it regularly I wouldn't give it up for anything.  Except eventually I will in my turn pass it on to my own daughter - if she ever learns to sew it would help.
